Washington Glass Fibre Moulders is a family run business that Ian started by himself roughly 40 years ago in a small holding in Great Lumley.
He started making car body parts for various companies and made some caravan parts on a sub-contracting basis for local companies.
The business grew and Stephen joined the family business. Over the following years things grew and grew and in 2008 Washington Glassfibre Moulders Limited was established.
Over the years the company has employed more and more staff up to the 15 that are currently employed today, including Ian’s other son Simon who is now employed by the business.
The business has grown from strength to strength and has moved into increasingly bigger premises several times to keep up with demand.
We now predominantly make camper van pop-top roofs and are the main supplier of a local camper van conversion company.
We do also make other things like, caravan parts, car body parts and more recently we have started making replica Tuk-Tuk vehicles for another local business.
